Washingtonpost.com: A Manual That's Worth Some Lessons 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX Sport Wagon
My wife, Mary Anne, has taken up the clarinet. Her willingness to accept new challenges is amazing. Her passionate pursuit of excellence in chosen endeavors is impressive. But I wish she would commit to learning how to drive a manual-transmission car, something she has resisted through 37 years of marriage.
Turbo & High Tech Performance: Fresh Meat - 2006 Subaru WRX STI spec C
In reaction to those who deemed the previous generation of Imprezas as "bugeye", "peanut eye", or absolutely hideous, Subaru unveiled a bold new direction for 2006. The latest edition of the WRC-developed stomper debuted with a triple-section grille that represents the cross-section of an airplane (the historical background of parent company Fuji Heavy Industries) and a pair of headlights that looks strangely similar to BMW's latest designs.

Galveston Daily News: Iraq veteran gets Christmas surprise
U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Steven Schulz doesn’t show much emotion these days, but just the sight of the customized Subaru golf cart wheeling into his driveway Christmas Eve shocked, overwhelmed and thrilled him. Schulz, a 22-year-old Iraq war veteran, was injured in Fallujah, Iraq, 20 months ago from a roadside bomb that damaged his leg, brain, skull and vision. But before war, he dreamed of racing cars and bought a blue Subaru WRX he loved.

Nihon Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line, HDTV
Of course Subaru doesn't ring your bell the same way "Audi" or "Jaguar" does but...when it comes to the price/performance ratio the japanese manufacturer suddenly has close to no challenger.

Mercury News: Legacy spec.B proves itself in L.A. -- land of lane darters
I'm a firm believer that the Bay Area has worse traffic than Southern California. When I'm down here, as I was recently for the big auto show, I expect gridlock in every direction. But drivers here have perfected the art of the quick dart, the artful lane change, as we all snake along at 10 or 15 mph. In the Bay Area, those lane changes seem slower, and there's lots more braking as a result, and I often sit motionless as traffic stops completely for two or three seconds, then lurches forward

Autoweb.com (AU): Forester is an Australian Best Car
The symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Subaru Forester X has been named Best Recreational Four Wheel Drive in the Australia’s Best Cars awards. Auto 123.com: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX Long Term Test
This is a drivers car. If you like driving (not just cruising), then this is your car. This car's ability exceeds the capability of 99% of the drivers out there. It's not a plush car. The bonus of the wagon body style is that it's also very practical. Everytime I drive the car, I can't wipe that silly grin from my face. My wife saw me grinning once while driving and she said "WHY ARE YOU SMILING?!?!"... as if it was wrong to smile. ;)
Auto123.com: 2007 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Road Test
When looking at the all-wheel drive wagon market, there really is only one place to start, at Subaru. For over 30 years now, Subaru has been bringing AWD vehicles to the world's marketplace. In fact, you could say that they wrote the book on AWD vehicles.
Edmunds Inside Line: 2006 Sport Compact Comparison Test
If the fun factor were the only important criteria in this test, the 2006 Subaru WRX TR would have walked away with the trophy. Its combination of big-bore turbo power and all-wheel-drive grip with ass-out chassis tuning is unmatched here. It's the only car in the group that can be thrown into a corner sideways and still exit with respectable speed.
Lafayette Journal & Courier: Subaru posts 9% sales gain
With a boost from findings of an insurance organization that measures vehicle safety, Subaru of America Inc. posted a 9 percent sales increase last month. The company that is headquartered in Cherry Hill, N.J., sold 15,800 units in November. That compares to 14,521 for the same month in 2005.
Carlist.com: Subaru Indiana is the first zero landfill auto plant
One of the first words I heard when I reached the Subaru Indiana Automotive plant was kaizen. What does Kaizen mean? It means improvement in a company, real improvement and innovative management practices. How has Subaru improved their automotive plant? You know that can of garbage in front of your yard every week. The one the garbage man takes to a landfill every week? That garbage can full of trash is more garbage than Subaru sends to a landfill every year.

Car and Driver: 2007 Subaru WRX STI Limited - Previews
For those young professionals who have been putting off a WRX STI purchase solely because it is too Converse All Star for their Kenneth Cole world, take heart: The STI Limited is here. Although nothing will ever glamorize the maker of the B9 Tribeca, the STI Limited—with the dual plane rudder gone from the trunklid—at least doesn’t trumpet the driver’s youth as loudly as before.

The Day.com: Legacy Spec.B Is A Special Sedan From Subaru
My apologies to the photographer. It just so happened that the day he took the 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT spec.B out for pictures also was the day that I had messed with the car's SI-Drive system.
“I don't know what's with that car,” he said upon returning after the photo shoot. “But I let off on the clutch and it practically laid down rubber. You should have seen the look on the face of the guy in the car next to me.”

Automobile.com: 2007 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Limited Road Test
The Subaru Forester is a very good car to begin with, and as the 2.5 XT Limited it transforms from a sober-looking and completely unassuming A-student into a sober-looking and completely unassuming wild child. Not only is it a good car by almost any objective measure, its also a bit of a closet thrill-seeker.
Auto123: Subaru Impreza WRX Road Test
The look is a not-so-subtle collection of reminders that this machine has been built with the help of years of racing and engineering advancements. It's shape directly communicates effortless control on any road.
CARonline: Subaru Impreza 1.5R
What do you mean 1.5? Is that the boost level measured in bars? Or the time it takes to get to 60mph? The dash in front of you looks pretty much the same as an STi’s, and when hit the right pedal you’ve got that same off-boost dead spot that you get when you’re caught in the wrong gear in the quicker versions. You sit there waiting for the kick but it never comes. This is a car for people with patience.
Bloomberg.com: Toyota Models Trail in Crash-Safety Study; Honda, Subaru at Top

The Age (AU): Growing plans
CONSIDERING it took Subaru nine years to expand from four to five global model lines, you might think it will be a long time before there is another bout of significant activity from the Japanese car maker.
But the opposite appears to be the case.

Automobile.com: Subaru Impreza 2.5i Sport Wagon Road Test
I recently had the opportunity to retest a car that I drove last year on its official launch, and came away after a week just as satisfied the second time around. This is always a good feeling, as on occasion Ive been struck dumb with love at first sight syndrome, and missed some obvious glitches that I normally would have caught if Id spent more than a single afternoon behind the wheel. The vehicle in question is Subarus recently updated Impreza 2.5i Wagon, one of the more enjoyable compact five-doors on the market.

C|net reviews: 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT spec.B
With the pleasant memory of our recent stint in the 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited still fresh in our minds, we looked forward to the arrival of the top-of-the-line 2007 Legacy 2.5 GT spec.B to the CNET garage. We weren't disappointed, as the spec.B offers all the Limited's performance while also including some gadgets that were absent from the 2006 model.
Motortrend: Head to Head: 2007 Mazdaspeed3 vs. 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX
Happy to say there are some rides out there that offer maximum muscle for minimal moola. These mini-musclecars deliver levels of power and performance that belie their pennywise price tags. In this frugal and fast field, no two vehicles deliver more bang for the buck than the veteran Subaru WRX and the newcomer Mazdaspeed3. The rally-bred all-wheel-drive WRX received significant upgrades for 2006--notably a 230-horsepower turbocharged flat-four--while the all-new front-drive Mazdaspeed3 has entered the arena with a force-fed inline-four whose direct injectors help kick out 263 horses.
Motortrend: Tuners: 2006 Cobb Tuning Subaru Tribeca
Subaru went big with its new B9 Tribeca, which serves up a taller height, more cargo area, and increased passenger capacity while matched with trademark Subee features to generate a well-executed SUV. The new Tribeca delivers an enjoyable, energetic ride through the hills, but if you want a dash of STI performance, consider the latest upgrades from Cobb Tuning. Based in Utah, Cobb has cut its teeth developing power upgrades for the WRX and STI, so it's a logical extension for Cobb to offer wares for other Subaru product--including the Tribeca seen here.
North Shore News (CA): Automobile intelligence 2.5GT spec.B
Instead of challenging the market-leading Toyota Camry and Honda Accord sedans, Subaru prefers to pitch the Legacy as an upmarket alternative comparable to entry-level luxury cars.

Autoblog: Rallylicious! Subaru WRX STi spec C TYPE RA-R
Ahhh, Japan -- where ever-more-muscular special editions pop into the marketplace with no advance warning whatsoever. On November 15, Subaru drops its latest rally-inspired performance bomber into showrooms. The Impreza WRX STi spec C TYPE RA-R (I don't know about you, but I love the Japanese penchant for giving their sports models these impressively long monikers) will be limited to 300 units, and offers the same power levels last seen in the limited-but-not-as-limited-as-this Impreza S204.

Scripps News: Subaru packs more performance into Legacy GT
The Subaru Legacy GT spec.B is making the review circuit with Colorado license plates, which seems highly appropriate at this time of year. On the slopes around the Continental Divide, the snow is beginning to pile up and the skiers are planning their getaways for later in the year. Many who make the drive up Interstate 70 from Denver tend to prefer all-wheel drive for safety because snowstorms can blow across the mountains with little warning, reducing visibility and traction to precarious margins.
Drive.com.au (AU): Subaru Liberty GT spec.B
Just when you think Subaru has pretty much wrung the Liberty dry, the company comes up with another way of presenting its mid-sized contender. The old 2.0-litre four has been binned in favour of the 2.5-litre used in the Forester XT and iconic Impreza WRX. The GT also now comes as two models: the standard car and the new spec.B, an option available with the 3.0R Liberty since 2005.

Automobile.com: Subaru Announces Worlds First Turbodiesel Boxer Engine
Though the refresh of the Legacy and Outback midsize models were key to the brands display at this years Paris motor show, theres much bigger news back at home camp. Alongside these introductions, Subaru confirmed that it would be building its own turbodiesel engine, something that its never done before. And while diesel power is a hot topic, Subarus oil burner will be different: its making a huge splash by choosing to defy convention in developing the worlds first boxer (horizontally-opposed) diesel engine.

CNet: 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca Limited
Subaru's move into the SUV market with the introduction of the 2006 B9 Tribeca seemed like a natural progression for a brand that has long prided itself on its all-wheel-drive capabilities. And despite an overall downward trend in sales of gas-gobbling 4x4s, Subie's five- and seven-seater newcomer found plenty of fans--and customers--in its first year of life. For this review, Subaru let us play with a 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca five-passenger Limited for a week.
IAfrica.com (ZA): First drive: 2007 Subaru Legacy & Outback
I’ll admit that I underestimated Subaru a bit before I attended the launch of the new 2007 Legacy and Outback. I assumed that it would be a rather small event and we would basically be introduced to a facelifted version of the old car with new headlights and bumpers.
ITV (UK): Road Test Subaru Legacy 3.0R Spec.B Sports Tourer Auto
For a long time, the Legacy suffered from nondescript styling which seemed almost shy of admitting the excellent qualities which lay underneath. That changed markedly when the latest-generation model was introduced for the 2004 model year, and three years on Subaru has improved things still further in what it describes as "an extensive but subtle facelift".

Take away his zillion-dollar arsenal of post-production trickery, replace it all with a Super 8 cine camera and one furry boom mic, and Steven Speilberg would still be able to make a better movie than pretty much anyone on the planet. In similar vein, if you take away the Subaru Impreza WRX's whipcrack bazooka of a 230bhp turbo engine, you're still left with a very sweet-handling car.

Carpages.co.uk (UK): Subaru Impreza Review | Part One
Upgraded for 2006, the new Impreza comes in a range of saloon and 5-door vehicles with either a 2.0-litre or 2.5-litre engine. The one that causes all the fuss however, is the 2.5 WRX STI - £27, 040 of ‘in-your-face’ grunt. Even with the more restrained new facelift the car is not shy in coming forward. And there’s the rub, not everyone wants to advertise just how much they enjoy their driving.

Saanich News (CA): Subaru revisits crossover juggernaut
When Subaru delivered its first Forester in the fall of 1997, I doubt they had a true appreciation of the influence it would have in helping to establish the now tremendously popular crossover segment of vehicles. Winding Road: Spied - ‘08 Subaru Legacy(?)!
Admittedly, we’re not 100-percent sure what Subaru has up its sleeve with this lightly reconstituted Legacy. Sporting an oversized WRX-esque hood intake and revamped bumper, this could be an as-yet-unseen high-performance model, or the rumored facelift for 2008. It could even be a hybrid testing mule, but that wouldn’t appear to justify the aforementioned scoop, let alone what appear to be a pair of well-disguised dual exhausts.

Replacing those bagatelles is a new appreciation of more meaningful driving values, like exhilarating quickness, invigorating agility, and the all-important ability to head off irritable family syndrome by finding those qualities in a vehicle that treats others on board as well as it treats you.

automobile.com: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Road and Track Test
Whos the best race driver? Jeff Gordon? NASCAR fans might agree, but not F1 fans - theyd choose Michael Schumacher or Fernando Alonso. IRL groupies would point to Sam Hornish Jr. who just won the coveted Indy 500, while its hard to argue against Sebastian Bourdais who regularly cleans up in one of the most competitive series anywhere - Champ Car. But if you ask those same top drivers who the best person behind the wheel of a car is, theyd more than likely point to any one participant on the WRC circuit, because keeping a hurling rally car together while drifting sideways at 150 mph on a 10-foot wide snow covered road while hanging the tail end out over a cliff takes driving to otherworldly levels.

Carlist.com: The Brainy-Brawny Button
There's something clever awaiting drivers of the redesigned 2007 Subaru Legacy GT sedan or wagon. Behind an understated button on the center console beside the driver's right thigh is a novel technology dubbed Subaru Intelligent Drive, or SI-Drive for short. With a mere tap or twist of the button, the Legacy GT reconfigures itself into one of three distinct performance personae, ranging from nearly-mild to almost-wild.

Why should people who can afford Porsches and M-badged BMWs be the only ones to enjoy advanced performance technology? The Car Connection: 2007 Subaru Legacy GT Spec.B
With the introduction of the turbo 2.5-liter engine in the Legacy last year, Subie performance nuts finally had what they wanted - almost. The Legacy still lacked some of the added performance hardware to take full advantage of the new engine's added power, and finally for 2007 it all comes together in a more cohesive package, dubbed the Spec.B (note the strategic lack of a space).
The 2007 Spec.B, which goes on sale in August, attempts to be to the Legacy range what the WRX STi is to the Impreza range - a sport sedan that's geared toward high-performance. While it doesn't sacrifice nearly as much comfort as the STi, nor does it have the STi's peaky, high-boost engine, the Spec.B does get serious hardware from the STi, in the way of a heavy-duty six-speed manual gearbox, along with a four-pinion front differential and a rear Torsen limited-slip differential.
