When Doug walked into a Subaru dealership a while back to buy a new WRX, little did he know how much it would change his life – or cost him! A few weeks after the purchase he called the sales person and ordered a few trick bits for his car. Not long after that, he called again and asked that same sales person if he wanted to go professional rally racing. And a team was born. When Doug is not spending money on the race team, he is busy making it as the founder, owner and CEO of National Bankcard Services (www.nbs-inc.com). In fact, if you use a debit or credit card to purchase gas in certain parts of the country, you are already helping to put a few pennies toward the CPD Racing effort. The company processes bankcard, debit and EBT transactions for 70,000 point-of-sale systems at over 50,000 sites in North America. Doug not only has his sights set on making his team a top contender in the American Pro Rally series, but he also hopes to help raise the visibility of the world’s most popular form of motorsport in this country. To that end, Doug has started another company called Rally America (www.rally-america.com), dedicated to bringing continuity, professionalism and sponsorship dollars to the sport.
