Subaru UK announced that the all-new European-spec Outback has achieved the maximum five-star overall rating in the 2021 European New Car Assessment Programme (EuroNCAP).
Thanks to the Outback’s EyeSight driver assist technology, the crossover-wagon scored 95 percent in the Safety Assist performance. Subaru UK said that’s the “best mark ever from a Subaru vehicle.”
The Outback registered scores above the minimum requirement in all four-assessment areas. These areas are Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road Users, and Safety Assist.
Aside from the Safety Assist area, the Outback also attained the highest score in the Vulnerable Road Users test with 84 percent. Vulnerable road users are cyclists, pedestrians, among others. The Outback also registered the highest marks in the Child Occupant Protection in the large family car segment, with 89 percent.
