The Subaru Outback has always been the most luxurious car that the company has manufactured. In the early 2000s, the Outback had an LL Bean trim, which was basically a fancy rustic cabin on wheels. It was always engineered to ride smoothly while maintaining Subaru’s legendary AWD capabilities, at an attainable price. For decades, the Outback was Subaru’s best seller, until the Crosstrek came along, anyway. Even for 2025, the Subaru’s still one of my favorite Subarus (aside from the WRX, of course) to drive the family in. The Touring XT is my favorite, as it’s the top of the line for the model, for just over $44,000 MSRP. Talk about affordable luxury.
