The Hidden Truth Behind The Subaru WRX STi

Subaru has been around for a long while. They actually started building and selling cars in the 1950s. Back then, their products were very small, very low horsepower, and one was nicknamed the Ladybug. Those cars were known for being very popular and they built a strong basis for the brand. They began using all-wheel-drive in 1961 and it proved to be a major selling point that they still bank on today.
As the company grew they knew they would need to compete in more spaces and so in 1989 they created Subaru Technica International or STI. This was the performance brand of Subaru. If it needed to go fast, STI had a hand in it. To begin, the program was focused on the World Rally Championship. What most fans don’t know is that Subaru actually went to war in rally racing with their larger Legacy platform.
