Subaru is walking away from minicars. According to Just-Auto.com, parent company Fuji Heavy Industries is looking to concentrate its efforts small and mid-sized vehicles moving forward. While Japan still enjoys a thriving kei car market, the vehicles aren’t as profitable as their larger counterparts and require the same level of engineering commitment. Driven by what Consumer Reports called “wave of impressive redesigned models in the last few years,” Subaru earned the top score overall in the magazine’s report cards for 2012 for 13 major automakers. The report cards – in the April issue due on sale March 6 – are based on performance, comfort, utility and reliability in the magazine’s testing and consumer survey. Read More →

Subaru of America, Inc. today reported record sales for February 2012 totaling 25,374 vehicles, a 17 percent gain over February 2011. The company also reported year-to-date sales of 25,374, a 19 percent gain over prior year. Read More →
