Ken Block has closed the gap to his American Rally Association presented by DirtFish National championship rival Brandon Semenuk after a win on the Ojibwe Forests Rally. Block went into the day in second place behind Travis Pastrana, and gained four of the five second deficit he had back on the day opening stage nine, but an off-turned-retirement on stage 10 was the end of Pastrana’s chances of a win, as the car was undrivable.… Read More →

Travis Pastrana and Rhiannon Gelsomino have crashed out of a tight battle for the lead with Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino on day two of the Ojibwe Forests Rally. Pastrana was leading the rally by five seconds at the start of the day, but after the first stage of the day Block had closed the gap to just about one second. Chase Elliott joined Nitro Rallycross for the 2021 finale in Florida. Elliott was offered to join the event by Nitro Rallycross mastermind Travis Pastrana, which Elliott accepted. Elliott would drive the Ziprecuiter GoNitro Subaru prepared by Vermont Sportscar, which was driven by fellow NASCAR driver Kyle Busch earlier in the season. Read More →

Subaru Motorsports USA has once again stepped up its aerodynamic game for the latest round of the American Rally Association presented by DirtFish National championship, extending the front splitter of its cars to the edge of the rulebook’s allowance. The change for Ojibwe Forests Rally has been put in place to help balance out the car and add more downforce to the front tires after the massive wing upgrade at the New England Forest Rally. Crossroads is Ojibwe Forests Rally’s first stage and is most well known for its jump. At 10.5 miles long, the stage is of medium length with three distinct sections. This year’s race start is at Gladen Construction, with a 16-mile transit heading south to the stage. In 2004 I traveled with Doug Havir to Helsinki, Finland, for advanced rally training. Upon traveling halfway across the planet and arriving at Jakke Honkanen’s Rally School, we discovered, “Hey, this is just like northern Minnesota with different road signs!” I guess that explains the large Finnish population in northern Minnesota.
