Fuji Heavy Industries expects to hit a domestic production record of more than 620,000 Subaru vehicles in fiscal 2013, led by exports of SUVs to the US. It plans to produce around 310,000 vehicles in Japan in the first six months of FY2013 and has seen sales in the US rise almost 25% year on year in January-June this year to a record 204,597 units, led by brisk sales of the Forester. Fuji Heavy Industries celebrates 60th birthday

Fuji Heavy Industries, the corporate parent of Subaru, celebrated its 60th birthday a few days ago. The storied multinational company makes everything from wind turbines to airplane parts, and conducts business in more than a hundred countries. 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition review notes

Wow, this 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is quite orange. Tangerine actually, but judging by the reaction on Twitter I’d say this car was liked. At first I hated it, which surprised me because I don’t mind a little flash. But after a whole weekend, I started enjoying the silliness of it all. Like the WR Blue version, people see the color, the wing and get out of the way. Everything from a Chevrolet Camaro… Read More →

Truck Trend: 2014 Subaru Forester Manual AWD PZEV First Test

In the five minutes it took to complete a quick 2-mile jaunt on the main boulevard in Big Bear Lake, California, I counted four last-gen Subaru Foresters. That shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise, considering the crossover is the automaker’s second-best selling model after the Outback (76347 Foresters were sold in 2012), but for some reason, I was amazed at how many I saw in such a short amount of time. It’s safe… Read More →

What Do African Medics Drive? This One Has A Subaru Forester

On major drive events, including our May tour of South Africa’s Garden Route in new 2014 Subaru Forester XTs, organizers often include a medic among the team. This ensures prompt response to emergencies when the group may be hours from the nearest medical facility. From broken bones to insect bites, car crashes to allergic reactions, the medic is not only the first responder but in some cases the only medical professional in hundreds of miles. Read More →
