Travis Pastrana Is Back in Rally and He’s Bringing a Car You Could Actually Build

Rally racing has always carried a certain mystique — dirt-spraying drifts, high-revving engines, and fearless drivers threading cars through forests and over gravel at speeds that feel almost impossible. But for many fans, it’s also felt just out of reach, like something reserved for pros with deep pockets and factory-built machines. Travis Pastrana — yes, the guy who jumps motorcycles over helicopters and flies Subarus through the air — wants to change that. Read More →

2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid Is a Welcome Upgrade

2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid Is a Welcome Upgrade

We’ve bemoaned the refreshed 2025 Subaru Forester for its lack of vitality, but that was before we had a chance to drive something that’s never before existed: the Subaru Forester Hybrid. This changes more than you’d think. Yes, there’s a bump in fuel economy: from 28 mpg combined (with 19-inch wheels) or 29 mpg (with 17- or 18-inchers) for the regular Forester to 35 mpg combined for the hybrid. And for some people that’d be… Read More →

Modernising a WRC Legend – The Prodrive P25

Not so long ago, resto-mods were almost exclusively reserved for big dollar classics and vintage supercars. But exclusivity no more, just in the last couple of years we’ve seen the JDM space sprout a few of its own resto-mods; the Built By Legends GTR’s and TOM’s Supra just to name a few. That’s where the Prodrive P25 comes in. However, there’s a considerable difference between the P25 and other existing resto-mods, and that is production… Read More →

Subaru wasn’t all about its rally cars and sporty sedans and wagons back in the ’90s, though. Early on… Read More →

IN 2008, automaker Subaru unveiled its EE20, a 2.0L flat-four common-rail turbodiesel engine, as an option in European versions of popular models like the Outback and Legacy. The engine offered 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which kicked in at 1,800 rpm. Even more impressive was the estimated fuel economy of 49 highway miles per gallon. Living with a 2023 Subaru WRX: The Affordable, Fun Daily Driver

Growing up watching superstar drivers like Colin McRae and Ken Block piloting Subarus like bats out of hell, my fondness for the Subaru brand–and, more specifically, the legendary WRX–was formed at a young age. In high school, I once submitted a poetry assignment that detailed the romantic joy of sliding a Subaru around in the snow before I had even earned my driver’s license. When I eventually was old enough to drive, my first car… Read More →
