More car manufacturers are committing serious resources toward an electrified future, and Subaru is no exception. The Japanese automaker recently sent out a release stating its intention to invest up to $10.5 billion by 2030. This money will go towards targeting annual sales of 600,000 battery electric vehicles. Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) today reported 12 consecutive months of increased sales with 50,389 vehicles sold for July 2023, a 21 percent increase compared with July 2022 (41,536). Panasonic Holdings has started considering providing electric vehicle batteries to Subaru, the Nikkei reported on Friday. The two companies are soon expected to announce the plan to ink a basic supply agreement of EV batteries, the report said.
