After clinching the Isle of Man TT lap record in a Subaru WRX STI with a stock powertrain at the 2015 Isle of Man TT races, driver Mark Higgins, Subaru and rally-car shop ProDrive cooked up a plan to re-run the course with a heavily modified car. That plan came to fruition at the last Tourist Trophy competition with a car minutes faster than the stock Subie. How exactly did the Subaru shave so much time? Well, by taking everything ProDrive has learned from years of building rally cars and combining that with gobs of horsepower.
