Subaru Solterra review

Solterra: sun earth. In Latin. It’s the first Subaru electric car. Think you’ve seen it elsewhere? Well it’s a joint project with Toyota. Just as the two firms co-operated on the 86/BRZ sports-car near-twins, they did the same with the Solterra and bZ4X. Which means it’s like a medium-sized crossover. Subaru sells 4WD versions only, competing with twin-motor editions of the Skoda Enyaq, Nissan Ariya, Kia EV6 and Ford Mustang Mach-E. Except their twin-motor versions… Read More →

Most Dangerous Road? Scott Speed VS THE DRAGON

Scott Speed takes on America’s most twisted road: THE DRAGON. Cutting through the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina’s state line, this portion of the US 129 might make it one of the most dangerous roads stretching across 11 miles with 318 curves. Read More →

Kyle MacLachlan Was the Subaru Impreza in Japan

The best kind of celebrity endorsements are the ones that have very little to do with the product being shilled. Does Ford actually expect me to believe Derek Jeter owned a Ford Edge in Blazing Copper with a Panoramic Vista Roof? Ryan Reynolds knows nothing about wireless phone service — at least not more than you or I do — and yet we’re supposed to follow his recommendation of a provider nobody’s ever heard of… Read More →

2023 Toyota Highlander vs. 2023 Subaru Ascent: Pros and Cons on Both Three-Row SUVs

Toyota popularized the three-row crossover segment when it first launched the Highlander at the turn of the millennium. Unlike most SUVs of the time, the Highlander used a unibody platform, just like a car. Other automakers quickly caught on to this concept, Subaru among them. That automaker re-entered this segment with the Ascent in the 2019 model year and, like the Highlander, received updates for 2023. Read More →

ARA COMMUNITY PAYS TRIBUTE TO AL DANTES JR.

It’s been over a week now since grassroots rally legend Al Dantes Jr. was killed while he was fueling his pickup-truck at a gas station in his hometown of L’Anse Michigan. This 500-HP Subaru WRX STI Cost An Unbelievable Amount To Build

Most people wouldn’t spend over $60,000 on a Subaru. Even if it is a Subaru WRX STI. But then again the guys over at the Gears and Gasoline YouTube channel aren’t most people. They’ve been making car content for the last eight years, and are consistently pushing the bar with what they set out to do, resulting in their over 1 million subscribers. Some notable videos include cross-country trips in the unlikeliest of cars, including… Read More →

Getting Dirty During the Alcan 5000 — Part One

The Alcan 5000 Rally might not be what you think of when you think of rallying a car. It’s not an event chocked full of sideways-sliding Subarus or overpowered hatchbacks catching air over hills as hundreds of fans gaze as rabid drivers hurtle through the woods in search of the fastest stage of a gravel rally. No. That’s stage rally. The Alcan 5000 is a time-speed-distance (TSD) rally, and it’s a really long one. Try… Read More →

Subaru plans self-driving cars that ride out lost data connections

Subaru aims to develop self-driving technology by 2025 that can pilot a car even when its data connection is lost, Nikkei has learned. The Japanese automaker envisions servers constantly collecting data on a car’s position to predict the vehicle’s course up to roughly 10 seconds down the road. These predictions are fed back to the car and used to control speed and direction if the data connection is interrupted, people familiar with company’s plans said.… Read More →
