Kelley Blue Book has passed out awards for what it considers the best non-luxury car brands, best trucks and best luxury car brands. Subaru won in the first category, Ford Motor Co. The all-new Subaru Impreza and the new-generation Subaru XV have been handed top safety scores by the Japanese crash test authority – JNCAP. Confirmed this afternoon, the Impreza, which already carries a five-star safety score in Australia and the soon to arrive new XV (details here), won JNCAP 2016-2017 Grand Prix Awards. Here’s some gaming news you probably didn’t expect: Subaru of America has announced that it will back a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. Per a report from PvPLive, the 2017 Subaru Invitational will take place next month. Subaru Corp.’s U.S. winning streak is getting more expensive to maintain. That means buyers frustrated by long lines and a lack of deal-making on Outbacks or Foresters are in line for relief. When Subaru revealed the next generation Crosstrek, known as the XV in Europe, at the Geneva show, the company only announced the inclusion of a CVT. Fortunately, American Crosstrek buyers will still have the option to operate a clutch and shifter for themselves. Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. has a new, albeit familiar, name. Effective April 1, the maker of Subaru vehicles will be known as Subaru Corp. The move, announced last May, is meant to bolster branding at a company that makes everything from industrial products to helicopters but draws the vast majority of its cash from Subaru vehicles.
