Originally unveiled at the New York Motor show in March, the new Subaru WRX will get it’s European debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. Subaru will consider the next-generation WRX saloon to go on sale in the UK if it can be imported at the right price for dealers. The old WRX model is now sold out in the UK and the decision was taken earlier this year not to import further volumes. Read More →

The Norwegian stopped rallying last season, preferring to compete with his own team in the European Rallycross Championship when it became clear that there was no full-time factory WRC seat for him. On Saturday, July 13, 2013, 371 Subaru owners from nine states broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ record for the “Largest Parade of Subaru Cars” in the world. In addition to breaking the record, Subaru and parade participants supported two very worthy charities — PAWS Chicago and Salute, Inc. Now, I’ll be the first to admit to having a bias towards the 4th generation Legacy (2003-2009) with its sleek silhouette and frameless door windows – a unique design trait that most Subaru’s had up until recent years. Fuji Heavy Industries expects to hit a domestic production record of more than 620,000 Subaru vehicles in fiscal 2013, led by exports of SUVs to the US. It plans to produce around 310,000 vehicles in Japan in the first six months of FY2013 and has seen sales in the US rise almost 25% year on year in January-June this year to a record 204,597 units, led by brisk sales of the Forester. Niall McShea got his Chinese rally championship campaign back on track with a strong second place on the Zhangye Rally. Is Subaru the safest carmaker of all? According to some new research, it just might be.
