Subaru launches their first ever hybrid model and it comes with fuel-saving technology and newly released features that set it apart from the standard XV model. What we did know was that the new 2014 XV Hybrid will feature Subaru’s excellent Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system and 8.7 inches of ground clearance for off-road capability. When one thinks of a safari, they naturally draw pictures in their mind’s eye of wild animals, like lions, elephants and giraffes. We recently spent three days with a new 2014 Subaru Forester XT–the more powerful turbocharged model–driving South Africa’s Garden Route along the country’s south coast, from Plettenburg Bay to Cape Town. The drive included quite a few single-lane dirt and gravel roads, along with a few memorable mountain passes. Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) is investing upwards of $400 million to expand its operations in Lafayette, Ind., to accommodate production of the Subaru Impreza. The Subaru Impreza is currently produced only in Japan. Adding production of the Impreza at the company’s Indiana plant will create 900 new jobs. Redesigned yet still familiar, the 2014 Subaru Forester gets, among other things a more dynamic appearance, much lower fuel consumption and a refurbished interior. It may not be new from the ground up, but Subaru seems to have improved the Forester in all the right places. Read More →

In April, we got our first glimpse at the 2015 2015 Subaru WRX – the car was caught in STI form in photos and in motion running around Germany’s infamous Nürburgring. Record sales months are becoming routine for Subaru here in the U.S. and around the globe. Every month, Subaru of America reports record sales of its all-wheel-drive vehicles and they have just reported that May has been an historic-high month with vehicle sales of 39,892.
