In 2024, Subaru said that the next-generation Forester would be built at its Indiana plant. Now, as automakers face growing pressure from higher import tariffs, that decision ended up timely, with both the gas and hybrid Forester officially in production. The current-gen Forester marks the first time the nameplate has been built locally since it debuted in 1997. It also represents the first hybrid produced at the Indiana plant, which assembles the Ascent and Crosstrek… Read More →

Keen observers will note that these dates directly overlap with the Southern Ohio Performance Rally, the fourth round of this year’s American Rally Association championship. At… Read More →

In today’s compact car market, buyers who want value, practicality, and all-weather confidence don’t have to choose between boring commuter and pricier premium options. Do we have your attention? Good. If you read our recent Subaru Outback Wilderness review—which we highly recommend—you may have noticed that we concluded by noting that 3 percent of Subaru Outback owners have chickens and use their cars to transport them. This fact was presented to us by Subaru during a slideshow about the latest Wilderness model. While we obviously remembered something as weird as that, it left us wondering: What other animals do… Read More →

You may not love it enough to buy it, but you really should at least check it out, especially if you have the budget for a WRX tS. But what if you’ve already driven the new WRX, and it just isn’t hardcore enough for you? Well, you… Read More →

Lia Block’s back where she belongs. Or she soon will be. Returning to rallying after two seasons in the F1 Academy, the 19-year-old Utah star will tackle next week’s Sno*Drift Rally for the very first time. Driving an Element Motorsport-prepared Ford Fiesta Rally3, Block says he target is very straight forward in Michigan. “I want to stay out of the ditches and snowbanks,” she smiled. “I get a test for around 40 kilometers next week,… Read More →

Ryan Stewart never made it to his first track day after tricking out his Subaru WRX STI S209. He was killed by a drunk driver while changing a flat tire on the side of the road. While Stewart is no longer with us, his car will complete the journey to the track this weekend, after friends restored it in his honor, according to Fox 10. Ravi Tomerlin of We Don’t Lift Racing in Tempe, Arizona, headed up… Read More →

The last time the World Rally Championship held an event in the USA, George H.W. Bush was the President. Now, almost 40 years later, it might return. Later this year, it’ll roll into Tennessee and Kentucky to see just how realistic a WRC event on U.S. soil is. Rather than running a traditional rally, FIA representatives will be assessing how rallying is already done in the U.S. The visit includes observing an American Rally Association… Read More →
