2023 Subaru XV spied testing

The 2023 Subaru XV has been spied testing for the first time, ahead of its global unveiling rumoured for late 2022 or early 2023. Caught on camera on US roads by YouTube user KindelAuto, the next-generation XV’s styling is an evolutionary step forward from its predecessor, mixing the current model’s high-riding hatchback shape with smoother lines and design cues from Subaru’s latest models. Up front, slim new LED headlights link with the hexagonal grille through… Read More →

How Subaru and Prodrive Built Rallying Royalty

This week, we turn the time machine’s dial to 1996, for the preseason ahead of the World Rally Championship’s 1997 season. That means a trip to jolly old England, where the crew at Prodrive were hard at work screwing together Subaru’s effort for the following season. That car ended up being remarkable, the manufacturer’s championship winner for 1997, and one of the most beloved rally cars of all time. You’ll recognize it instantly as the… Read More →

SUBARU’S MAKEOVER FROM FARM MULE TO WRC WINNER

That noise was the trademark off-beat Subaru boxer burble. If late nineties to early noughties’ World Rally Cars had a soundtrack, it would have to be the classic, hard-edged note made by Richards’ Prodrive team in Banbury. Subaru’s WRC story was, of course, established in the pre-World Rally Car days of Group A. It was the Legacy which helped pave the way for the legend that was the Impreza. That was the model which delivered… Read More →

Subaru will revive the GT in new WRX form

Something Subaru and Audi share is a talent for building high-performance estate wagons. Which means that if your budget couldn’t stretch to a six-figure RS 4 or RS 6 estate from Germany, or you just felt reluctant to spend such a large sum, there was always a perky Japanese alternative wearing a starry brand that cost a fraction of the Audi’s purchase price. 2022 Subaru WRX: What’s Everyone So Mad About? – MotorBiscuit

Apparently, and much to my surprise, people are kind of mad at Subaru and the new 2022 Subaru WRX. What they’re mad about is even more puzzling. The masses are upset about a manual transmission, AWD, sports compact with rally pedigree, and great color choices. Oh, and an estimated $30,000 price point. For many of us, it’s a car that’s a perfectly attainable driver’s car that won’t be around for long. So what’s everyone so… Read More →

Supply-chain problems driving down sales for Subaru of America

Subaru of America says its sales fell 40 percent in October from year-earlier levels, reflecting the continued impact of supply-chain shortages. The downturn left year-to-date sales virtually flat with the same period in 2020, the Camden car distributor said. “Subaru, like the rest of the auto industry, faces a severe shortage of semiconductor chips and other key components,” Thomas Doll, the firm’s president and CEO, said in a statement Tuesday.
