Now that Ford, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and many others have dropped out of the sport-compact segment, Subaru and Volkswagen are among the few automakers still burning the affordable performance flame. And there’s a lot of new stuff to digest for the 2022 model year, as Subaru has just debuted a new WRX and VW is bringing over the new Mk 8 Golf GTI and Golf R hot hatchbacks. Read More →

The 2022 Subaru WRX Carries the Torch With 271 HP, a Manual, and Electronic Dampers

It’s the go-anywhere, rip the HOA, and hoon like a hero part of Subaru. It’s Colin McRae’s 1995 World Rally Championship, and bug-eyed blue sedans that could have been styled using Play-Doh by a six-year-old. It’s not about cute little paw stickers in the back of an Outback hauling Labradoodles around Vermont. It’s about the WRX. That’s the Subaru that’s worth loving, craving and worshipping. 2022 Subaru WRX debuts with new look, evolutionary upgrades

Meet the new 2022 Subaru WRX, the fifth generation of Subie’s rally and racing legend. The new model sticks pretty close to the established formula of the previous generation and at first glance, it doesn’t look all that different. However, Subaru assures me that it is “all-new from the wheels up” and after some ridealong time at a media preview, I’m intrigued. It may not be radically different, but there’s lots to talk about, including… Read More →

VA for Victory: Bidding a fond farewell to the 2015-2022 Subaru WRX

The approaching announcement of an all-new Subaru WRX is an event to be viewed with equal parts excitement and trepidation. Exciting stuff: sideways gravel antics; still comes with a manual; almost surely will have more power! Worrying stuff: almost certainly not going to look like the attractive concepts; and what if Subaru messes things up? The WRX is, indeed, Subaru’s ball to drop. The current generation now being wound down is most definitely a star… Read More →

10 Cool Features Of The New 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness

Subaru’s Wilderness label is more than just a merit badge for a more outdoorsy Subaru owner.
