One man who has had a hard job this year has been Preston Osborn. As competition director for the American Rally Association presented by DirtFish National championship, Osborn has been working hard behind the scenes to ensure equal competition between Hoonigan Racing Division and Subaru Motorsports USA among his countless other jobs for the series. While Osborn obviously can’t control what drivers do on stage, it’s hard to say he and his team didn’t have… Read More →

Here is a sad truth. Instead of celebrating their signature Symmetrical AWD with a cool, rally-inspired high-performance four-door, Subaru has silently joined that important 50th anniversary with the third generation of the Crosstrek CUV. Read More →

Mighty Car Mods has long been one of my favorite Youtube channels. Known for modifying a variety of cars in an incredibly informative and interesting way on video, these guys have progressed immensely since their first video in 2008. Their latest creation is arguably their coolest: a Subaru Impreza WRX STI swapped Subaru Levorg, which is the wagon version of the Impreza that we never got stateside. Read More →

If a normie asks me what kind of car they should get, I almost always say a Subaru Crosstrek, which starts at $23,645, to which many people reply that it isn’t very fuel-efficient, and then I say fine get a Crosstrek Hybrid, which starts at $36,845, and then they say the Crosstrek Hybrid is too expensive, and then I say fine just get a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which starts at $24,050. Getting a Corolla has… Read More →

Born from the Subaru and Toyota Collaboration, the Subaru BRZ and the Toyota GR 86 began modestly in the first generation, offering a fancy sports car design, comfort, and, more importantly, a high drive quality comprised of a peppy output, good acceleration, and maneuverability – all in a more affordable package. Not to mention that they were also some of the most reasonably-priced RWDs out there. The Toyota GR86 and the Subaru BRZ are among… Read More →

The sensational new Subaru BRZ fielded by Olly Clark, son of rally legend Roger, did not make it into the points-scoring rounds at the Brands Hatch Time Attack event on Sunday. The car, christened Gobstopper 3, broke its gearbox after setting the track alight in practice. The four-wheel-drive machine’s turbocharged engine produces 930bhp and the car was due to make its competitive debut in the MotoFest Coventry event’s sprint earlier this month, but the closed… Read More →

From the July 1982 issue of Car and Driver. That beat of the different drummer that sets cadence for the wacky side of life—could it be that Subaru wrote the original score? A look at its corporate record is bound to convince you so. Over the past quarter-century, six Japanese firms have eagerly migrated to America to expand their export horizons, while one company—Subaru—had to be cajoled here (some say exhibiting the Japanese equivalent of… Read More →

August was a busy month for Colin McRae in 1993. He turned 25. He changed British rallying history forever. And he began a three-year reign as the king of New Zealand. McRae had experience of the North Island roads, having competed at the event while simultaneously successfully defending his British Rally Championship title in 1992. That maiden voyage to Auckland didn’t go well. The engine on his Subaru Legacy RS failed five stages in. The… Read More →

Subaru describes the challenge that dogs with special needs face when it comes to adoption. The older, physically challenged, and those with conditions such as blindness are often the last dogs to be picked for adoption from shelters. Knowing these challenges, Subaru created National Make A Dog’s Day on Oct. 22, intended to help all underdogs find homes. Read More →
