Subaru is looking at two options to improve the STI’s fuel economy. The first is a standard hybrid drivetrain made up of a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four engine that works jointly with an electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission to spin all four wheels. Sources close to Subaru told Australian website Motoring the hot-rodded hybrid will make approximately 321 horsepower, about 20 more than the current model.
