Earlier this month, Michael Dunlop reset the lap record at the Isle of Man TT at 16:53.929 on a Hawk BMW motorcycle en route to winning the 2016 Senior TT.
While a 17:35.139 is a full half-minute short of Dunlop’s time, it is still very impressive considering it was done in a 550-hp 2016 Subaru WRX STI – which was only topping out at 175 mph (the bikes often hit over 200 mph). It reset the lap record for a car on the course by over 14 seconds.
