When Subaru motorsports marketing manager James Tate asked us, “Would you want to do something with Scott Speed and Airslayer?” We said, “Yes, please.” The pair arrived for Lightning Lap, and the result was a new record.
Speed needs little introduction. He raced in Formula 1 (the first American in more than a decade to do so) until he lost his Toro Rosso seat to Sebastian Vettel, who went on to be pretty good in the sport. Since then, he’s raced almost everything with four wheels, from NASCAR trucks to Formula E. Starting in 2013, his focus shifted to rallycross, a discipline in which he’s won four championships.
