Subaru’s loving its American customers

Subaru maker Fuji Heavy Industries is on a roll. By focusing on the U.S. market, it has increased unit sales 50% over the past five years. And its operating margin is a fat 15%.
Its American customers seem happy. “I’ve just replaced my BMW with a Subaru,” a 48-year-old man told The Nikkei two months ago in Chicago. The man was at the Grand Subaru dealership to pick up a Forester SUV. One month earlier, he had bought an Outback SUV for his wife.
