This week in 1977: Subaru to introduce all-terrain vehicle
Harvey Lamm, then-president, Subaru of America, confirmed that the Japanese automaker was planning to bring a multipurpose four-wheel-drive vehicle to the States with introductions penned for the fall of 1977.
