Subaru used last week’s 2025 New York International Auto Show to roll out a new seventh-generation Outback, ushering in the first SUV body style for a nameplate that has traditionally been attached to a wagon. The new 2026 Outback’s arrival also feels like it marks the beginnging of the end of the mainstream wagon in America, leaving longroof fans with even fewer choices than their already limited selection.
