Sports car ownership has always demanded compromise. Buyers accept a stiffer ride, a cramped back seat, or a nervous rear end in the wet for sharp handling and excitement behind the wheel, and for decades that trade-off was simply part of the territory. A rear-wheel-drive muscle car in a downpour tests a driver’s nerve as much as their skill, and plenty of otherwise excellent performance cars spend half the year parked once winter weather rolls in, gathering dust in a garage instead of logging miles on the road. Enthusiasts largely accepted these limitations as the price of admission for real driving excitement.
