Subaru is the country’s most popular supplier of body cladding, and has a rugged all-wheel-drive crossover in every segment, from the Impreza-like Crosstrek to the three-row Ascent. But until recently, those looking for these go-anywhere qualities in a Subaru EV had only one choice, the relatively bulky Solterra.
That has changed with the arrival of the Uncharted and the Trailseeker. If the Solterra is the equivalent of a Forester EV, this pair are best thought about as all-electric matches for the ever-popular Crosstrek and Outback. The Crosstrek is Subaru’s current biggest hit, which makes the Uncharted’s position as its electric equivalent an important one.
