Over in one corner, we have Travis Pastrana and the Subaru “Brataroo,” which features a high-revving turbocharged flat-four engine capable of spinning up to 9,500 rpm. For folks who may be unaware, Pastrana is a pro driver with experience in multiple motorsport disciplines, including motocross, rally racing, NASCAR, and more. The four-banger in the Brataroo is described as “sounding like a freaking two-stroke,” with the car running lower gearing than the last time it ran this course, which means it is better suited for the twisting turns and allows Pastrana to use stickier Yokohama tires for added grip. The Subaru is also all-wheel drive, giving it a major advantage off the line and out of the corners, although as is pointed out, rear-wheel-drive cars can rotate more easily around obstacles.
