Subaru’s Outback and Legacy Plant to Break New Ground

Following a record year of sales for its Outback wagon and Legacy sedan in 2011, Subaru has announced that it will meet the increasing demand at Subaru dealerships by expanding the central Indiana plant where the vehicles are built. The Japanese automaker will begin construction this summer on 52,000 square-feet of additional factory space, a move that will increase production capacity at the plant by 15 percent and equates to roughly 24,000 more vehicles per year.
