On Saturday, April 28, 2012, the NASCAR Nationwide Series traveled to Richmond International Raceway for the Virginia 529 College Savings 250. This race featured a new face that many fans had been anxious to see. Travis Pastrana had been best known for his stunt riding and his wins at the X Games. However, now he is hoping to be known for his NASCAR driving. This race served as his Nationwide debut. He finished 22nd but was happy with the result. His race was not clean, as he received a penalty for speeding on pit road, but it was a good start for his new career path.
