Vermont SportsCar is on a mission to make building a factory-style rally car more accessible, and we have Travis Pastrana to thank for it.
The Vermont-based team behind the field-dominating VT23r Subaru rally car is thinking long and hard about offering a more down-to-Earth rally car to pioneering rallyists after the launch of its ARA25L, the prototype WRX-based rally car that Travis Pastrana piloted in his return to the sport at the 2025 Olympus Rally. You see, Vermont SportsCar’s all-carbon, downforce-laden Open Class VT23r rally car is more like the track-bound racecars that we know and love, complete with a SADEV dog-box transmission and a custom-built 2.0-liter flat-four engine. However, the ARA25L is as close to the average privateer build as the storied rally company is willing to run.
